Once a year we harvest olives that are first-cold-press-in-a-vacuum to produce our yearly crop. To guarantee the quality we send samples to independant 3rd party laboratories for chemical analysis including free fratty acids, peroxide values & poly-phenol counts. Once we chemically meet Extra Virgin standards, we do sensory test where an expert taste panel analyses taste charicterisitcs, looking for any flaws, defects or adulterations.
Nuvo Olive Oil won a Gold medal for the Estate Blend (medium intensity), a Silver medal was awarded to the Early Harvest (robust intensity) & a Bronze medal for the Expert Blend (delicate intensity) at the 2015 Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition – the 5th largest competition in the world.
Nuvo Olive Oil employs the ancient art of making olive oil in conjunction with modern technology. Our family is proud to opperate a Certified California Organic Farm, focusing on sustainability, stewardship of the land, minimally assisting our 125 year old trees, allowing nature to do the heavy lifting, which produces a unique quality of organic olive fruit.
